I'm feeling very creative, but also very sick. I'm having an annovulatory cycle, and am having a lot of cramping/pelvic pain/headaches. (I need to go back on my birth control pills for a while.) The downside is for all of the stories/dialogue running through my feverish mind, nothing is getting written down, and as such, will never be remembered.

My current Harry/Snape piece is very long, and probably won't be finished in the next few days, as is required for HP QFAC. I might consider prompts (gratefully) for a different piece that can be completed on time, even though I have exceeded the 5000 words I was sponsored for, two of my friends, including my sponsor requested a HP/SS piece that I have yet to deliver.

I have plotted out and am attempting to write a novel-length SGA fic between now and July 8th for sgabigbang. Progress to be announced.

On the SGA front, my stargatefic100 claim table is looking woefully bare, and is the subject of many of my feverish ramblings. I want to tackle some of the various kinds of cliche!fic /genres that are so much fun. (Also, a wide variety of kinks.) So, I am trying to make a list, and welcome suggestions:

I am also on a claim hiatus, due to the sgabigbang piece I mentioned, and I am starting to enjoy writing longer pieces, in general. I want to write one more HP QFAC story, the ncis_tinsel pinch hit story for opium_lips, my yet to be assigned sshg_exchange story, one last winter_of_angel story, and just work on my claim tables. I won't be taking on any more claims or exchanges for the next six months or so, I think, maybe until it's time for the holiday exchanges again.

My muse is irritating me. It's not that she's not being inspiring, but she has a shorter attention span than I do. That and sex scenes just aren't as much fun to write anymore, especially since they seldom accompany plot.

I currently have one Hermione/Fred/George smut scene, with no accompanying plot.

One Mulder/Scully piece that has the set-up done all the way to the bedroom, and then nothing.

One Ron/Harry piece (yes, Ron, after I said I wouldn't write this pairing, my muse laughed at me) that is a basic set-up/scenario, also lacking smut.

One Harry/Snape piece that has the opening scene and an outline (which for me, isn't a traditional outline, but plot points, snippets of dialogue, an overview of the story as I see it) and I don't know which will come first, the plot or the sex, but I know they won't come together.

Maybe I have more than one muse - either that or she is even more gemini than I am.

I really want to get the MSR piece done, but the R/H piece is pretty well-inspired. Then again, if I can't write the smut - it's already in place for Hr/F/G, if I can figure out my starting place.

*sigh* I have a major headache, though, and bitching about it here is just another way of procrastinating, as is watching another episode of Enterprise.

General rambling, mostly aimed in the direction of: elmyraemilie, the_minx_17, and softly_sweetly.

So, I'm trying to get ready for Quills for a Cause by setting out some idea of stories I might like to write, ideas to tackle, etc. since it starts in a couple of days, and brainstorming and writing are really different functions in my brain.

1) I think I'm going to write some Hermione/Fred/George stuff. It will be something different to tackle. I haven't written it before, and it's fun to read. Other than p0rn, I have no real story ideas yet. Must think of something less amorphos.

2) I was thinking of the requested Harry/Draco/Severus stuff and I came up with an idea, an actual suggestion of involved plot. The thing is that it could take up the whole month as it is a STORY not a vignette like I normally write. It won't do much for my 100quills totals, but it will stretch my writing muscles in a good way, the way I have been trying to for a long time. I am worried that I will not do it justice, or that I will freeze up in the process.

Also, I don't know if I really want it to be H/D/S, even though that was the initial inspiration. It would work well as a H/S story and be much easier to write, but the inclusion of Draco adds a lot of layers of complications to the plot that make it interesting and harder to write.

I am also worried about it coming across as trite and done before instead of original and engaging, as it could be. It's another aspect of doubting my skill - sub-plots, showing not telling, engaging dialogue rather than narration, all of the things I struggle with to shift from vignettes to novelettes. Especially since I have a thesis and goal, but not all of the details from a to b.... It's like free-falling, and I'm worried about getting stuck, like I have when I've attempted this sort of WIP in the past.

HP QfaC, hpqfacforum is a charitable event that uses the creation of fanfiction and fanart to encourage people to support HIV/AIDS research and prevention. It runs through the month of February and I've signed up to participate, since it is a cause I support and because I am feeling inspired to produce more fanfic.



I just signed up and as such don't have a sponsor. However, I am willing to take requests, provided they aren't too detailed, and they are a pairing I can write. I generally write Harry-slash (preferences for Snape, Lupin, Neville, Draco, Weasleys [but not Ron]), Hermione/Snape, Hermione/Weasleys (including Ginny, but not Ron), or trio!fic.

So, even if you can't sponsor me or another writer, but would like to read something by one of these pairings, drop me a comment. I'm going to try for a fic a day in February, and I've got my 100quills and other claim tables to fill out.
