Late for my own party
I'm made of stupid and fail. I never should have posted about things that clearly invited you for discussion on the night before the day of layout end at my work, when I don't really have time to pee, let alone type a response or hundred. So after working until 7 o'clock in the morning and then sleeping all day, I had a huge headache (again, as usual after a layout) for another night and day, and now am feeling distinctly shaky and the discussion has petered out by itself by now :( Meep.

I've read all the comments though, then repeated with separate threads. Thank you very much for speaking your minds! Your opinions give some nice food for thought!

Not to become too serious about ourselves and our own opinions, the part of the discussion that was about concrit is summarised by frantic_mice. As for me, hilarious and very observant :)

When all three are acquitted, they go into business together, as no one else will work with them. However, Hermione Granger is no longer the same person she was at Hogwarts, and she refuses all contact with her former friends. When Ron attempts to break into her life, a terrible disaster follows, leaving only Severus and Draco to pick up the pieces. Roger Houston I have a problem!!!!
I have an urgent request for a second beta.

Due to real life I haven't heard from my first beta for a while and I have no second beata reader at all.

I have a feeling that this may well be because I am doing a Carson/Radek story. I would really like to get a second beta and wondered if anyone knew how I go about it!!

I'm not looking for anyone doing the BigBang itself to help me out just some suggestions as to where I may go for help!!!

Thanks

OTW Membership: Finnish language
As many of you know, the Organization of Transformative Works launched membership to the org at the end of March in six different languages.

As the Membership committee has previously reported, OTW now has over 400 members from 14 different countries and together, we have raised over US$12,000. Thank you so much for your support! This means we can start the process of purchasing dedicated, co-located servers for our various projects, including the Archive of Our Own.

While the membership drive itself is over, it's never too late to join OTW. Please see the linked entry at the beginning of this entry for more information.

OTW and the Community Relations committee have some fun things planned for the following few weeks; watch this space!

And finally, thanks to our Finnish volunteer translator, we are very happy to be able to bring membership information to you in Finnish.

(If you would like to join our current team of volunteer translators, please email the Volunteers committee - volunteers @ transformativeworks.org to find out more!)

Meidän Arkistomme on projekti, jonka ympärille Organization for Transformative Works - OTW (Transformatiivisten teoksien järjestö) syntyi. Me olemme ei-kaupallinen järjestö faneilta faneille.

Viimeisten kymmenen kuukauden aikana olemme rekisteröityneet ei-kaupallisena järjestönä... )

Hurrah! Success! Kind of.
In five minutes I'll be able to say that I officially went to bed during the PM hours. TINY STEPS, PEOPLE! TINY STEPS!

On one hand there is a certain awesomeness to concept of the following exchange:

"Late night?"

"Yeah."

"When'd you finally make it to bed?"

"Noon."

"..."

See? Appealing.

On the other hand? Holy crap I miss sleeping at night and I really need to GET THINGS DONE tonight but sleeping while it's light out without blackout curtains isn't as restful as one might like. Also I cannot decide if my allergies are getting worse or if I'm actually kind of sick. /whining.

Catching up on comments and emails tonight. Also. Work. For reals.

p.s. Have watched an entire season of Gilmore Girls. Urge to talk at top speed and be incredibly ungrateful, rising.

ETA: HA! MADE IT! I BITE MY THUMB AT THEE AM HOURS. I BITE MY THUMB.

So, it's been a while...
It's been such a crazy several months and it seems as if I rarely have time to get on here and update everyone on what is new in my life. The past few weeks have been very busy with baby stuff and calming down issues floating around my real life. Then of course, the last week has been spent in an email argument from hell with my mother.

But let's start with the scary and dangerous, though far less annoying issues. )

and we're off...
Woke up to all sorts of fun this morning!

First up, Neil Gaiman's take on Dr. Who as Hamlet:

"To be, or not to be, that is the question. Weeelll.... More of A question really. Not THE question. Because, well, I mean, there are billions and billions of questions out there, and well, when I say billions, I mean, when you add in the answers, not just the questions, weeelll, you're looking at numbers that are positively astronomical and... for that matter the other question is what you lot are doing on this planet in the first place, and er, did anyone try just pushing this little red button?"

HAHAHAHA! Spot. On. From here.

Then, [info]babygotbass linked to Justin's recent appearance on Ellen. It's a continuation of their mutual love fest!

Part I | Part II

I've seen a few people mention books they hate. Here are some books I hate:
* Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Yes, I know. But I didn't like it at all. There are very specific things I want out of a vampire book and Twilight didn't deliver for me. If it's any consolation, the movie casting looks fantastic. Edward Cullen. Mmmmmmm.
* The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards. I haaaaaaaaaate this book. I thought it was manipulative and contrived and I was angry when I finished it.
* Anything by Melville. Again, sorry. But he bores me to death. Melville is an example of an author who's ideas I like but who's execution doesn't work for me. Same with Tolkien. I love the idea of Middle Earth but I'll never care that much about one tree and there's far too much wandering for my taste.

Books I hate aren't all sorts of fun but letting loose on my distaste sure is. Another thing I like very much? G'Kar and the Narn. I'm about 1/3 of the way through season 2 of Babylon 5 (and I'm taking a break until you can catch up, [info]carta), and I'm completely taken with G'Kar. I find him oddly attractive in a bald, spotty (but strong & noble) sort of way.

The show is old enough that, in searching for a G'Kar icon, I inadvertently spoiled myself for a plot point I haven't seen yet. No more icon searches for me until I finish the series!

It looks like it's going to rain pretty soon so I'm going to try to get my run in before the downpour starts. Week 5, Day 2!
